Title Sequence Research

Title Sequence Research

A title sequence will play at the beginning of the film. They are a method by which films and TV programmes present their title, as well as their key production and its cast mebers. They very commonly make use of visuals during the sequence, as well as appropriate sounds. They are most commonly seen after the openeing credits. They are always edited during post-production, and often make use of lots of visual transitions and graphic matching. They often act as a device that will set the scene for the film. For example, it might show the setting of a city, along with some dramatic music. such as the opening of Panic Room (2002). This conveys the mood of the film and gives the audience a vague idea of what is to come. They may also give some backround information on the storyline of the film, or perhaps show a montage of a character's day to give of immediate impressions.
