Script (Version 1)

Opening sequence

A near completely dark room is lit by a single key light, lighting the young male protagonist's (actor's) face who is tied up in a chair. A crackly record is playing quietly, (old jazz/blues). The camera cuts to a door that opens slowly, a loud creak overpowers the music. As the door is opened fully, a tall man in a suit (Kyle) walks through letting go of the door, closing with a faster creak. With every step the man makes, a loud footstep resonates. He stands in front Bernard twirling a knife in his hand. A muffled voice is heard, altered with a voice changer to be deeper.

MYSTERY MAN

"Hello Bernard. It's good to finally have you here."

The man begins to slowly walk around the chair, seemingly inspecting the young male. His face is concealed by the darkness, but the rest of his body revealed; a suit/formal wear. He stops behind Bernard and crouches so that his head is next to Bernard's, showing his mask in the process.

MYSTERY MAN

"Now, who should we call?"

The man slowly browses through the contacts on Bernard's phone. The camera appears close on his face, lit by the phone screen. An eyeline match to the phone shows the name "Randy" on the screen. He then dials the number on speaker.

MYSTERY MAN

"I'm sure that your friend would like to get involved"

The camera then cuts to the friend in the room (Jonathan), waiting a few seconds and then getting an incoming call on his phone.

FRIEND

"Hey Bernie, it's been a while. How're you?"

MYSTERY MAN

"Hello, Randy. Your friend seems to be in a spot of trouble." *small pause* "Right Bernard?"

VICTIM

"R-Randy... Help... Me"

The phone cuts off with the dial tone sound. The camera cuts to the Mystery man who places the phone on the floor and stands up, once again twirling the knife in his hand.

MYSTERY MAN

"See you in hell, Bernard"

The camera shows the man lunging towards Bernard with the knife and shows a close up on the mans face. 'Blood' spurts onto the mans mask and after a few seconds the mans head jolts towards the camera, then there is a jump cut so Volnus' face fills the screen. The screen blacks out, but the music is still going on in the background. The title sequence then is initiated.

After the title sequence there is a montage of someone getting ready then walking downstairs seeing the t.v on and the news announcement about volnus is playing.
