Locations

Not many locations will be needed for this, as the main focus area would be in a large dark room. The idea's we have for this room would be either the drama room in Barnsley college, as that is a large area where the amount of light in the area can be controlled by us, which would be necessary as we would need it to be relatively dark, but we would still be able to see the footage easily on the camera. Darkness would be necessary for this scene as we intend to create tension and a sense of eeriness in order to appropriate our film for its genre.

The second location can be anywhere. This is where the friend (Who we have decided to merge his character with the detective, Will) will be filmed receiving the phone call from Volnus. This location did not require any special treatment, except that it should be bright in order to juxtapose with Volnus' lair.

The third and final location of the two minute opening to our film is Will's house, where we see a montage of him getting ready for another day of work. Of course, in order to film this we needed a house. Therefore, we used Ross' house as this was the most convenient. We didn't need any specific layout or impression for the house itself. It just needed to look like a typical suburban abode, hence specific details of mise-en-scene for this location were irrelevant.
