Volnus is the main antagonist of 'From Whence He Came'. Volnus' story is rather similar to every normal person's, but as a child, he was brought up in a violent area and constantly beaten and pushed down for everything he did. He had no one in his life that supported what he did and he hated his parents. Both he, and his parents were captured and Volnus was forced to watch an unknown assailant murder his mother. At this point, Volnus took the assailant's knife and killed him with it, as his father looked on shocked, before succumbing to the same fate. This was the first time he killed, but definitely not the last.
Definitely a broken man to say the least. He wandered around sleeping wherever possible and stealing from those he killed. He sought revenge on the world for how he was treated and believed everyone was responsible. Insanity had already flooded his mind and there was no turning back for him. His blood stained hands were created to kill.
